VITO presents at Plant Based Summit 2023

LIGNICOAT is thrilled to announce that our partner, VITO, made a significant impact by delivering a captivating presentation at the prestigious Plant Based Summit (PBS) 2023. The event, focused on fostering the development and implementation of bio-based products, took place in Lille, France, from June 13th to June 15th.

VITO’s presentation, titled “Lignin and lignin depolymerization: The way to biobased materials containing aromatic units,” was held on June 14th from 10:40 AM to 12:00 PM. The session, centered around “Lignocellulosite biomass and wood processing products,” provided a platform for experts to explore innovative approaches in utilizing lignin for sustainable solutions.

The Plant Based Summit (PBS) is renowned as an international gathering for the bioeconomy sector, bringing together key players and end-users to shape a greener and more sustainable economy. The 7th edition of the summit placed a particular emphasis on market-driven biobased solutions, targeting various sectors such as home care, cosmetics, paints, coatings, inks, solvents, decorative furnishing, construction, plastics and materials, automotive, packaging, fashion and textiles, water treatment, and the nutraceutical industry.

During VITO’s presentation, the audience was captivated by the possibilities offered by the LIGNICOAT project. The discussion revolved around the potential of lignin and its depolymerization in producing biobased materials that incorporate aromatic units. VITO highlighted the environmental benefits and sustainability aspects of this approach, showcasing the role of lignin in driving the shift towards a more eco-friendly and renewable future.
