LIGNICOAT successfully concludes the first review meeting

On Thursday, February 16th, the LIGNICOAT project held its 1st review meeting to assess its progress and plan for the upcoming period. The online discussion was attended by project partners, the project officer from the Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE-JU), and the experts.

During the meeting, the project coordinator Aitor Barrio (TECNALIA), presented an overview of the project and its current status, followed by presentations from each work package (WP) representative. The WPs covered a range of topics, including the development of lignin-based intermediates, bio-resins, bio-additives, sustainability assessment, dissemination and exploitation, project management, and ethics.

The presentations provided a detailed insight into the achievements of each WP, the impact delivered, and their links with other WPs. They also covered the activities performed during the reporting period, including the consumption of the allocated budget and their respective deliverables and milestones.

The meeting concluded with a discussion of the expected contributions to environmental and socio-economic impacts, an assessment of the DoA deviations, and a review of the next steps for the project.

Overall, the mid-term review meeting was a great success and demonstrated the excellent progress and collaboration of the LIGNICOAT project. Comments from the reviewers were positive and welcome for implementing improvements. We look forward to hearing more about the project’s achievements in the upcoming period.
