LIGNICOAT at the Polymers 2024 MDPI Conference in Athens

The LIGNICOAT project recently showcased its innovative research at the Polymers 2024 conference, which was attended by around 300 participants. The conference held in Athens on May 28-31 provided an excellent platform for presenting advancements in polymer science and fostering discussions on sustainable solutions.

LIGNICOAT partners presented a poster titled “Bio-Based Sustainable Coatings With Lignin Resins for Enhanced Performance and Environmental Impact.” This presentation highlighted the use of lignin, a natural polymer, in creating high-performance, environmentally friendly coatings. By leveraging lignin, a renewable byproduct, the project aims to develop sustainable alternatives to traditional, less eco-friendly materials.

The connection between the focus of the Polymers 2024 conference and the LIGNICOAT project’s goals underscores the critical role of natural polymers in advancing sustainable technologies. Lignin’s potential as a bio-based polymer aligns with the conference’s emphasis on innovative polymer applications, making it a pertinent topic for the event.

The conference was a valuable opportunity for the LIGNICOAT project to share its findings with a diverse audience of scientists and industry professionals. It also facilitated discussions on the broader implications of using bio-based polymers in various applications, reinforcing the project’s commitment to promoting environmentally sustainable technologies.

For those interested in the detailed content of the presentation, the poster can be downloaded from the website dissemination tab.
